Building on the ACTS/SDSN AusNZPac 2025 Regional Forum: Putting Education for the SDGs into Practice in Higher Education, this session aims to provide an informal and friendly space for members to raise and discuss related issues or questions that are top of mind for them.
1. Welcome [5 min]
2 Emerging themes and gaps in ESD research in HEIs – Prof Annette Bos & Dr Filia Garivaldis (Monash Sustainable Development Institute, Monash University) [30 min]
- Presentation on findings of a recent literature review
- Discussion on implications for ESD practitioners, researchers and HEIs
3. Implications of AI for ESD [20 min]
- Student literacy on how AI helps/hinders the achievement of the SDGs – Prof Geoff Scott (Western Sydney University)
- Discussion/stocktake on other areas of intersection between AI and ESD, and who in our region is working on those (potential for further discussion)
4. AOB and close [5 min]
